The Modern Jive "French Style" is a form of modern jive, where the footwork has been simplified and the handwork is cross-arm driven, giving it much more rhythm. It has been developed in France (hence the name), and has two main advantages over other forms of jive (ceroc etc): 1) With an experienced male dancer, the female dancer doesn't need any experience to dance "correctly" and enjoy herself. The learning is very fast, and you can easily dance with new partners. 2) It can be danced on any 4/4 music with a strong beat, which includes most music heard nowadays in nightclubs (hence the name sometime used of "nightclub style jive").
